Did you know that Writing Ourselves Whole, as a fiscally-sponsored organization (thanks, Intersection!), can now take tax-deductible donations?
As of August 2010, I’m raising funds for scholarships – we have workshops at many different fee-levels, but you know times are tight: there are folks who really need these workshops who can’t afford them. Can you help?
- To make a secure online donation using your credit card, you can visit the Intersection Incubator donations page. (Thanks to our fiscal sponsor, Intersection for the Arts, for setting up this page with Network for Good!) Choose ‘Writing Ourselves Whole’ from the drop-down menu next to the question “Which fiscally sponsored project will benefit from your donation?’ (Writing Ourselves Whole is down near the bottom!)
- You can also send a check. It should be payable to Intersection for the Arts (our fiscal sponsor). Please write ‘Writing Ourselves Whole’ in the memo line, so that Intersection knows who you mean to support with your donation! Mail the check to: Intersection 5M, 925 Mission Street, Suite 109, San Francisco, CA 94109.
- We can always use volunteers to help us post flyers and share information about the workshops — we’re going to start a quarterly mailing, and if you want to help stuff envelopes, let me know!
Thank you thank you thank you

Oh, wow — Mikaela, thank you so much for writing, for this note. I really appreciate it.
Thank you for reading, for your resilience, and for your surviving!
best best,
Jen
i just wanted to drop a quick note to express my gratitude for you and writing ourselves whole.
reading your writing helps me understand and heal from my abuse and i am grateful more than i can express in words.
thank you for being so honest and inspirational. your honesty about your survivorhood makes me feel stronger as a survivor and able to write through my trauma.
also, i love the idea you posted a few weeks back about an incest survivor version of the “it gets better” project. i think it would benefit lots of survivors through their recovery.
thanks again for this amazing site and all the great writing prompts.
